Excess Return Voucher Terms and conditions
What is the Excess Return Voucher?
The Excess Return Voucher allows you to reclaim either the voucher value stated on your Excess Return Voucher or the entire value of your excess (whichever is lower).
The Excess Return Voucher is available to retail customers only who have purchased a new or used Nissan (excluding Motability and Commercial vehicles), or service, MOT or repair from an authorised dealer. The value of the Excess Return Voucher can vary and is subject to change.
When can I use my voucher?
You may use your Excess Return Voucher if your vehicle suffers any damage covered under your insurance policy.
The Excess Return Voucher is valid for one year from its start date and can only be used once. Only one voucher can be issued per vehicle and is non-transferable. Only one voucher can be redeemed per claim.
How to claim the Excess Return Voucher
- The voucher must be activated before the incident occurs in order to be valid. The incident must take place between the validity dates shown on the voucher.
- Following an accident, regardless of who you are insured with, you must call Nissan Excess Return first on the dedicated 0330 818 0499 number. If you call any other Nissan number or your insurer first, or without our instruction, the voucher will be void. Where we accept and complete the vehicle repair, we will pay up to the voucher value as cash back towards any policy excess paid by you. You will be required to pay the repairer your applicable motor insurance policy excess. The repair cost must be settled by your insurer. Once the repair is completed and your insurer has settled the claim, we will refund you the voucher value stated on your Excess Return Voucher or the entire value of your excess (whichever is the lower). You will need to provide proof that you have paid your excess in order to claim on the voucher. For the avoidance of doubt Nissan shall have sole discretion to accept any vehicle for repair.
- The voucher only applies when the claim is reported to, accepted and managed by Nissan Excess Return and the accident repair is carried out at a Nissan Approved Bodyshop.
What will Nissan do?
When you call Nissan first and we handle your insurance claim on your behalf:
- Accident recovery may be provided subject to availability for unroadworthy vehicles. If you cancel the recovery of your vehicle you will be liable for any cancellation charges incurred, or if your insurer rejects your claim you will be liable for any recovery costs incurred.
- A replacement car may be provided subject to availability for the duration of the accident repair carried out by a Nissan approved repairer. You may, subject to availability, be provided with a courtesy or hire car (subject to terms of use/ excess and indemnities may apply). A replacement car is not available for standalone glass claims or if you are claiming on Nissan Free Driveaway Insurance.
- You agree that we will manage the claim in conjunction with your motor insurer if the accident was your fault, or the other driver’s insurer if they were at-fault and if they have accepted liability. Nissan will not be responsible for any additional excess charges your insurer may charge for using our repairers.
- In some instances where your insurer may not let us report the claim to them on your behalf, we will ask you to report to them advising them that you are using our Nissan Excess Return service with a Nissan approved repairer.
